CLASSES

Advanced Acting 1-3
The Advanced Acting class elaborates on practices learned in Drama Fundamentals through scenework that highlights specific types, techniques, and methodologies associated with the craft of acting (Meisner, Viewpoints, Shakespeare, etc.). This class often produces a one-act show for the fall or winter one-act festivals.
Fundamentals of Drama 1-2
Drama Fundamentals is an introduction to basic theatre. Students will engage in all aspects of drama: writing, acting, directing, & tech. At the end of the class, the students will produce a one-act production to be performed before an audience. This class is a prerequisite for Advanced Acting 1-3, Musical Theatre 1-4, and Film & TV 1-4.

Musical Theatre 1-4
When it is offered, the Musical Theatre class consists of the rehearsal process for the spring musical. Students who want to participate must audition and/or fill out a tech application. Students who have not taken Fundamentals of Drama must also submit two letters of recommendation -- one must be from a former theatre director.


Dramatic Writing
When it is offered, the dramatic writing class is during second block, second semester. Different techniques and lessons are taught. Explore the world of script writing every other year. (Alternates with the film class).

Film & TV 1-4
The Film & TV class explores different aspects of film acting and technical production while producing numerous short films spanning several genres. At the end of the semester, this class hosts a film festival that showcases the top student-written and directed films.

Advanced Drama
Advanced Drama includes all student directors and stage managers for the Drama Fundamentals classes. These leaders guide the beginner students in the process and production of a one-act play during the second part of the semester.
